The Nutcracker

DDC has presented the Nutcracker ballet since 2001. We present the full story in a time format suitable for all ages and at a price point that makes it affordable for the whole family. Join us for this wonderful winter tradition this December!

Important Information

  • 2026 AUDITIONS - Saturday, September 5, 2026 at DDC.

    Primary Level Audition: 1pm-2:15pm

    Secondary Level Audition: TBD

    MANDATORY PARENT MEETING: Occurs after each audition time slot

    *First time audition - Please speak with Sandy Morgan’

    REGISTRATION - Access your online account via the register button on the top of the page.

    There is a $10 audition fee.

  • All scheduled rehearsals are MANDATORY for cast members.

    Rehearsals will begin in October with two weekends of Saturday and Sunday rehearsals to learn choreography and continue each Saturday thereafter between 1-5pm.

    Specific dates and times are TBD.

  • The performances of the 2026 Nutcracker will occur at Wydown Middle School, dates TBD

    The MANDATORY dress rehearsal will be at Wydown Middle School the Thursday before (date TBD)

  • Dancers must attend a minimum of two weekly ballet classes that are maintained throughout the season.

    *Students must have previous ballet experience as determined by the director in order to audition.

    *Dancewear Requirements: Pink tights and ballet shoes, pointe shoes (dependent on role)

    There is no costume fee for the production, but dancers are responsible for replacement or repair costs to lost or damaged costumes.
